Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of Health authorities during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines via the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the topic of a report to the Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is important that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be harmful.

"These kinds of products being sold, generally online, have undergone no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their safety.

"You simply do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
